What happens when I mark a class as Hostel?
The classes which are marked as Hostel are allowed to enroll only the hostel students. No day scholars or semi-residential type of students allowed into such classes.

What is the use of Class Categories?
The class categories are used to group the classes under one Segment/Category.
For example, Nursery, PP1, PP2 are usually grouped under Pre-Primary Category.
This will help you assign one in-charge or coordinator who looks after this segment to use certain features like handling concerns, generating reports.
Class categories are used in the learning-based assessment which is designed specially for Montessori curriculum based schools.
During admissions, you can set the application number format for each category of classes.

One of my branches considers a specific percentage of gross salary as basic salary for all staff. The rest of the branches calculates manually. How to handle this?
MCB Provides an option to set a specific percentage of gross salary as basic salary against a branch. Update the percentage to be considered against Basic Salary percentage column and Manual Basic as NO.
School can also set basic salary calculation as manual to specify basic salary for each staff. Set the column YES against Manual Basic.
